Salish Cedar Bentwood Box – Butterfly 305SBB

Cedar bentwood boxes are a traditional art form from Canada’s west coast. This one was crafted by Salish artist Shain Jackson, and was made using the age old technique of steaming cedar to bend it into shape. These boxes are often used to hold one’s most prized possessions. The Butterfly (accented with abalone) is featured on the lid. It represents beauty in it’s purest form, able to transcend the physical, adored by all. It measures 3.5″ square x 2.5″ high (9 cm x 6 cm) or 5″ x 5″ x 4″ (12.5 cm x 10 cm).
