Dene Basket – Red Flower by Laura Nande

This charming basket was crafted by Rose Nande in Fort Laird, Northwest Territories. Traditional baskets from the region were used for storing food and supplies. It is durable enough to use, but can also be displayed as an original work of art. Crafted of birchbark, willow strips, spruce root strips, moosehide ties and porcupine quills, it measures 5.25″/14 cm in diameter, 3.5″/9 cm high.
