Dene Lidded Berry Baskets by Marie Kotchea – Cardinals

These charming berry baskets were crafted by Marie Kotchea in Fort Laird, Northwest Territories. Traditional baskets from the region were used for storing food and supplies. These are durable enough to use, but can also be displayed as original works of art. Crafted of birchbark, willow strips, spruce root strips, moosehide ties and porcupine quills, they measure 7″ x 6″ x 7.5″  (17.5 cm x 15 cm  x 18.75).
