In August of 1961, Stan Nobel of Hamilton, Ontario, claimed to have battled a pickerel for 7 hours and 27 minutes in the waters of Georgian Bay, off Parry Sound. During the epic battle, Stan claims that the pickerel charged the boat, destroying his 15 hp Evinrude outboard, and damaged his Chris Craft. When he landed the pickerel, it turned out to be less that 3″ long. Stan had it stuffed and turned into a keychain.

Green with Blue Stripes #23-82
In the 1930’s around Parry Sound, Ontario, vacationers who were looking for an affordable treat to have around the campfire discovered a tiny fish that could be caught in only inches of Georgian Bay water. Rarely growing larger than 3″, the Marshmallow Bass could be roasted on a small stick till golden brown. Yum.

Green with Red Stripes #23-81
In the summer of 1953, the idyllic vacation town of Parry Sound, Onatrio was shocked by a series of grizzly deaths at a popular area beach. No vacationers were harmed, but several toy Poodles were ravaged by a tiny sub-species of piranha found only in Parry Sound. It was finally subdued by 8 year old Scooter McPhee, of Streetsville, using a plastic pail and shovel.
